Architecture is an applied form of art. The architect and the profession adapt to customer tastes, economic opportunities and market needs. But this must not be an unconditional, servile adaptation: in that case, the added artistic value might be lost. However, good architects who cultivate a high standard of professionalism will always be needed by society. The artist is a man who sees differently, has a different approach to things. By this he knows what is secret for the layman, but becomes a benefit for all, if we believe in the architect and architecture.
